Swollen Lymph nodes in Neck Lumps - 18 years!

by Bornsickie, Jun 30, 2008 11:35AM
18 years ago I had delivered a son, 3 days later I developed pneumonia, blood clot, pulmonary edema, staff infection and a host of other problems which resulted in my dying 2 x's. About 4 months after that I developed these lumps on both side of my neck. At first they were distended and rubbery. Didn't hurt, but would occasionally ache. Over the last few years they have changed. There is now a hard lump in each one. It is movable. They also hurt all the time now. I can barely move my head side to side, I can barely lift my arms up, my neck, shoulders, ears, and head hurt sometimes so bad that I just cannot hold my head up anymore! Over the last 18 years many, many Dr.'s have poked and prodded them and been very amused at the size of them They don’t hear how they hurt! They don’t hear that they swell so bad sometime I can't even eat and/or I choke a lot. They don’t hear NOTHING! These lumps have been a big topic of conversation in clinics and hosp. but no one helps me get rid of them! If it were a few years ago, I might think it was just fluid but the change in them over the last few years has me very worried. There are days I just cant get out of bed! Over the years I have had a long list of health problems... I was practically born sick! Some of the diag., have been: Fibro, chronic fatigue syn. IBS, irritable bladder, irritable appendicitis (which I still have and have to deal with every day), enlarged liver and spleen -which my old dr. refused to acknowledge because he did not know what the other Dr. had based this decision on!!!! And never followed up at all!!!!!!!!! My fingers and big spots next to my eyes (not my eyes) turn yellow -when this happens my upper back just about kills me! I have had both knees operated on, major back problems from a parachute accident 30 years ago, and a whole host of other problems that may or may not play an important roll in these lumps. Is there a blood test I can have done that I can take to a Dr. and shove it in his face and say..... here! This shows proof that I am not making up things! These lumps are real! And this is why they hurt so bad! I just cant spend one more dollar to try and find out what these are only to feel like a hypochondriac! Dr.'s see the lumps, feel the lumps, manipulate the lumps, see me wince in pain, jerk from pain, even shed a tear and they still refuse to do a freakin thing! I hate these Fla. Dr.'s! They just keep taking my $$ and making me live with pain! These are approx (normally): 2-4 cm wide X 6-8cm long, depending if they get swollen more or not! If they are really swollen they get huge!
