Thyroids Mass

Hello:

I am concerned.  I noticed a huge lump on my neck, it was not there a week ago and it rapidly grew.  I went to the
doctor and he sent me for an emergency ultrasound and discovered a mass 4.5 cm x 3.7 x 2.5 cm with liquid elements in it. They took a thyroid blood test and it is normal. I have a biopsy on Thursday. I also read that medications for epilepsy can also cause thyroids to enlarge. I am so worried right now. I do take clonazepam about 1/2  of a  .5 mg every other day for anxiety disorder. Do you have any idea from your knowledge of what this can be? Any advice for a worried young lady?

Thanks,

Side effects of medicine will affect the thyroid function, not cause the nodule formation.
Without detailed description of mass from the ultrasound, it is possible to speculate that  the small pre-existing thyroid nodule rapidly increased in size due to the intranodular bleeding.
