E.T.V Surgery and Fluid filled lump

by AprilandTesla, Jun 30, 2008 09:13PM
On June 23rd my daugther. who is 13 months, had an endioscopic third ventriculostomy. Her incision is moon shaped and has been relativly flat to her head. However, tonight she woke up from a nap and there is a fluid filled, almost blister like in texture, lump where her incision is. I called her NSG and he said it was fine. She has had a small amount of unnoticable leakage, but nothing major. I was wondering if this is normal for just having this surgery, and what signs i should watch for to take her to the emergancy room?
Thank You,
April W.

Hi,

Please watch out for any hemorrhage, major CSF leak, infection and seizures, excessive urination. The rate of complications is more in children younger than one year.
