chronic abdominal distention

by Kris1352, Jul 01, 2008 11:18AM
For the past few weeks I have had chronic abdominal distention.  I have Crohns Disease and have had 2 surgeries to removie sections of my intestines.  Surgeries were successful, but now it is a few years after the last surgery, and I just cannot get rid of the distention.  I take Asacol, six 400 mg tabs per day which have done nothing for the distention.  I have no cramps or pain......but have tried everything I know of to get rid of the distention.   Gas is minimal.    I have tried Gas x with no relief.  I have been through so much with my surgeries, I sure dont want another one.  What could be causing the distention....and what can be done about it?  I am a small woman 52 yrs. old and my weight holds at about 114 give or take a lb.   What should I do?   I tried to get an appt. with my gastroenterologist, but had to weight 11 days for an appt.
