Is it possible I have leukemia?

by confused721, Jul 01, 2008 01:48PM
I HAVE BEEN SICK FOR AWHILE NOW HORMONAL ISSUES, SWOLLEN LYMPH NODES WHICH I HAD SOME REMOVED FROM MY NECK AND LEFT AUXILLARY, THEY SAY IT IS SARCOIDOSIS.  I HAVE DAY FEVERS, NIGHT SWEATS, CONSTANT PAIN, AND SWELLING IN MY JOINTS AND NOW MY WHITE BLOOD COUNT STAYS AT 3700-4000.  I FEEL LIKE NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHAT IS GOING ON AND I AM EXHAUSTED.

Hi.

Leukemia would usually present with unusually high white blood cell counts (more than 10,000).  It is really possible that your symptoms are really due to sarcoidosis.  Other conditions to look into and discuss with your doctors include the possibility of autoimmune diseases such as lupus.  Other slow growing infections would include tuberculosis which is often times confused with sarcoidosis.

Regards.
