pacemaker causing throat pain?

by KerryGirl, Jul 01, 2008 06:30PM
My grandmother got a pacemaker a couple of years ago, since then, she has had throat pains which seem to be triggered by cold, as sometimes if she goes outside when it is windy the pains in her throat start. She has asked the doctor about this and I think she even got x-rays and nothing was helpful, the doctor simply said he didn't know!

thanks in advance for anyone that maybe provide a clue as to what is causing this!

My Dad has a pacemaker/ICD and he has not mentioned any discomfort or pain in his throat.  Maybe the pain is related to a medication?  Or, since it seems to be agitated by wind, maybe it is neurological?
