Test results antibodies- Grave's?

by fen8, Jul 01, 2008 06:37PM
Hi,
I had the antibodies test and I was expecting it to be high to indicate Grave's but it doesn't seem to be so. I saw a great chart at the hospital that lists what the combination of results mean, but I haven't found it anywhere else.
Is it always high when it's Grave's, or can it be normal? Would these results indicate something other than Grave's?

Results:
TSH: LOW .01  range: .30-5.5
FreeT4: HIGH 100 range 11-22
FreeT3: HIGH 30 range 4.0-7.8
Anti-THyroid Peroxidase: NORMAL 18  range <35 kU/L

Thanks!

The antibody that indicates Grave's Disease is the TSI antibody. It is the Thyroid Stimulating Imuniglobulin antibody.

Doesn't look like they ran it. The Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase is also called TPOab. It's good that you tested negative for it, but that doesn't rule out Grave's Disease.

Are you taking anti-thyroid meds to lower the T4/T3?
