We Decided We are Finding Out...

by energy_train, Jul 01, 2008 06:56PM
Hi Girls,
My hubby and I sat down and had a long talk about finding out versus not.  Little did I know that he really wanted to find out.  He had never expressed this as he said he knew I didn't so he was just going to be OK with that.  We discussed it all and my friend who had her baby (3rd also) said that it's SO NICE knowing that everything at home is done.  I don't want to do a gender nautral theme as I have my whole nursery pictured in my head.  We decided that having less stress now as we can work on the nursery, clothes, etc. August through November while the kiddos are in school was much better than being stressed out when the baby comes and we're trying to do it all.  Although I'm still a little sad about finding out as I really did want that surprise on D-Day, I'm OK with it and have until Monday to be really ready for it.  I guess I can always change my mind in there but I do see his points and agree that it would be best to know planning wise, especially since it's #3!  So, I'll hopefully have news Monday!!!

Yea I wanted to be surprised to an actually picked out some really nice gender neutral stuff that I thought I would keep no matter what the baby was,  but when it came down to it I decided to find out and when I did that was all it took the shopping started and I picked a totally girly bedding set....lol... I think its less stress on ya like you said

I am still hoping to find out too!  Much easier for planning.  And I think it builds a bond with baby.

I agree, it does build a bond when you know what you are having.  We also discussed how it will be better for our daughter.  Our three year old could care less but our 6 year old is dead set on having a girl and if it's a boy, it will give her time to get used to it and love the baby before rather than being angry if it's a boy when we have it.  My hubby and I don't care what we are having which is why I think I didn't want to find out!  So...I'll let you know on Monday! My appt. is at 9:30!!!

I too thought it would be fun to wait, but I don't think I could wait that long.  And you all have brought an interesting point about building a bond with the baby.  DH and I have our appointment too on Monday, but not until 4:00 (eastern time).  I can't wait!   Hopefully our little one cooperates and yours too!

I am glad you talked to your hubby! I don't know what I would have done if Mr. bean hadn't wanted to know.
Its cool to know he supports you either way though! I bet it probably makes it more exciting for him to know and be involved b/c he doesn't get to carry and feel the baby like we do.
Well good luck! And we want to know when you find out! :D
