My gyno says that this is a first outbreak and it was given to me. Is there any chance I could have been an asymptomatic carrier and triggered my own outbreak during sex?

i had sex with 2 different people within a short time period. what is the possibility i would have passed it on from person 1 to person 2 if i had no signs of an outbreak during sex? my doctor says it is unlikely but person 2 is the love of my life that i only get to see every few years and i would hate to think i could have given this to him (altho there is teh possibility he gave it me)
