daughter wont eat after surgery

my daughter just had hip surgery 6 days ago and refuses to eat anything she picks at things ( she will take a couple of bites of something then push it away) she also wont drink her milk , but she will have juice and water , now what i would like to know is this normal? she is on tylenol with codeine and i know that codeine sometimes can lower the appetite but is there anything we can do? we are extremely worried

You did not stated your daughter's age. If her appetite does not return to normal after you stop the Tylenol with codeine, suggest she be seen by her MD and be evaluated to find out what is wrong. In the meantime try to give her milkshakes or Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink for extra calories and protein to help with healing from her surgery.
