Hi,

Fused vertebrae are mostly congenital ie it occurs during the early weeks of fetal development though it can manifest at any time after birth. This abnormality is known as Klippel-Feil syndrome http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/40001385/
The most important thing is avoidance of trauma to the part. I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible and discuss various treatment options which involves surgery as well.

Hi,

Surgery is done to relieve cervical instability and constriction of spinal cord which occurs due to fused vertebrae

Hi Lester,

I am glad you found the information helpful.

Since you have started developing symptoms of spinal cord constriction like loss of sensations in hand, I would suggest you to see an orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible.
