Pregnant with negative HPTs?

by kmarie443, Jul 02, 2008 08:29AM
Hi everyone,

I could use some advice. I'm a 28 year old single woman who has been on the pill consistently for 10 years now. My periods have been very consistent as a result - I always get them the day I go on the sugar pills for 3-4 days. However, I have now skipped 2 periods, and am coming up on my 3rd missed one. I've taken 5 HPTs over the past 2 months, and all have been negative. But, I am having some pregnancy symptoms. I did take them a little irregularly around the time I would imagine my boyfriend and I would have conceived, but I never missed one by more than a day. Does anyone know if it is possible to be pregnant and still fail so many urine tests? Do some women not give off the pregnancy hormone in their urine?

I would go get a blood test done, that way you will really know.

thanks richeygirl. I have an appointment in a 3 weeks, just after my next period is due, and it's just killing me! Since I was on the pill, obviously I wasn't expecting it, but now that I think I might be, I'm really excited and just want to know!

it is possible but not a definite yes or no can be provided unfortunatley... sorry you have to wait. I know how agonizing it is....

I would have blood test done. Your doctor could maybe schedule that prior to your next appointment so you wouldn't have to wait so long? GL and keep us posted?!
