Am I pregnant w/ low-positve?

Hi All,
Yesterday, Day 12 post-transfer I went in for a pregnancy test. I was convinced I was not pregnant because I had some cramping and bleeding. I thought for sure I had started my period since the cramping started on day 10 post transfer.
Yesterday, the office called and said I had a low-positive. 36 HCG. They told me to be "cautiously optimistic".
What the heck does this mean? My family has been calling for results and I told them the test was inconclusive because it sounds like it could go either way at this point.
I would love some advice and reassurance.
