hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism?

by Henryaga, Jul 02, 2008 10:48AM
Hello Dr. Kenneth Woliner,

I am writing you because i am really confuse about the normal levels in the Free T4, Free T3 and TSH levels in my mother's blood test.  She got that blood test because her hand was shaking abnormally (Trembling hand).

I will really appreciate if you could let me know what you think about these levels. I was looking in internet and I think the TSH level is a little bit low (0.846 mIU/ml), which normally means hyperthyroidism, but the Free T4 (0.89 ng/dl) and Free T3 (1.71 pg/ml) levels are low too, which means hypothyroidismm.  I am not understanding what is happening with her, ...obviously, i am not a doctor to know exactly what it is, but i would be really grateful if you would be able to help me with this dilemma.

Thank You.
