Surgery or not? L5/S1

by bigmike37, Jul 02, 2008 02:57PM
I am a young 20 year old student in college.  I am in the best shape of my life, physical therapy and swiming have strengthened my core to a state it has never been in but the pain simply wont go away... i was wondering if anyone has had the minimally invasive microdisceotomy to correct back pain? my herniation is 9mm.  Ive been in pain for about 5 or 6 months if not more now and am starting to think surgery would be a good decision.  Does being young and inshape help my chances of success under the knife?
