Taking antiviral/vaccines in adult chickenpox during rash?

by TT5000, Jul 02, 2008 07:25PM
two important questions:

-when should you start taking antiviral therapy for chickenpox and can it be effective after a few days of the rash?

-is getting the vaccine while having the rash effective?

Don't know of any specific anti-virals for Chicken Pox. It is a Herpes virus so there are some repression antivirals. Will they help? If started in the first day or two of the rash---maybe. Will it hurt? Well your out the fifty bucks but it won't do you any damage.

If you've got the Pox, you don't need the vaccine.
