Hello! I was diagnosed with Graves' disease last October.  Have been taking Tapazole (Methimazole) to treat it.  I have certainly had my "ups and downs" but have been told it takes 1-2 years to work.

Of those that have had the radioactive iodine treatment, I have heard there is some success with that.  For now, my Endocrinologist wants to continue treating me with pills rather than the RAI.

It is a slow process, and sometimes a life long disease.  But most people seem to have relief after 1-2 years of treatment.

Hang in there!
