Steroid Injection for keloid

by haneefisa, Jul 03, 2008 08:12AM
Hye. I just had my first steroid injection on a keloid which is on my face. hours later i noticed the bump got a little bit bigger than its original size and the color also changed. To me, this looks much worse than before and i wish i never had that injection. Is this normal?, i mean, the swelling and the redness(but i dont feel any pain or itchy). will it shrink? how long this condition will last?

Hi

I suggest you have this followed up with your physician if the swelling persists and if there is no improvement in the condition after a day. The steroid is supposed to improve the appearance of the keloid. So if swelling , discoloration and redness are present ,have this evaluated as soon as possible.
