Hi there.  The answer to this question will depend on a lot of factors.  It primarily depends on the character of the pituitary tumor, and what hormones it excessively produce (ACTH? TSH? etc).  Some hormones may interfere with effexor and this needs to be confirmed first.  You may need help from the neurologist regarding this matter since the drug Effexor and other drugs in its class can have a variety of drug-drug or drug-hormone interactions.  Regards and God bless.
