Gums (Bleeding & wasting away)

by charlene2891, Jul 03, 2008 05:02PM
Hi,

My name is Charly, I'm 26 years old, and this is the explanation of my problem. My gums are wasting away, really fast, I bleed whenever I brush my teeth (twice a day, when I get up, and before I go to sleep), and when I use mouth wash (throughout the day) it stings. I've always been very careful with my teeth, and I'm worried about this and want to know, what's wrong with my gums, and what can I do to stop this? I'm worried that my gums will keep wasting away and I'll end up showing the roots of me teeth they way that it's progressing. Please advise. Thanks for your help!

Have a great day!
Charly

When was your last dental exam and cleaning?  You should consult with your dentist in regards to the proper type of cleaning that you'll need.  If you had a cleaning recently, it's normal for the gum to bleed several days after cleaning.   If a cleaning does not resolve the issue, you might have a systemic problem.
