Has anyone ever had a constant sound in their ear like something chewing or crunching?

K, I know it sounds crazy but I keep hearing this wierd sound in my left ear. Its like a crunching sound. I always picture like a small bug or something chomping down ona leaf. Thats what it sounds like. Crazy huh? I asked my doctor and he said it could be my heart beat or fluid in my ears, but it doesnt sound like either. Its really creepy. I just keep freaking out like what if its a wierd parasite or worm or something. Any explanations or similar experiences?!!

I had the same problem kinda sounds like a bug chewing on wood. I was told that it was fluid in my ears, I don't hear it that often but when I do it gets very irritating.

Oh i forgot to say....
The way I get rid of the sound is I lay down with the bothersome ear down on the pillow and open my mouth as wide as I can and swallow a few times. That almost always makes it go away.
Just don't put your finger in your ear and wiggle it, somehow it makes it worse and a bit painful.
