Chest pain possible causes

by LifeTwoPhoto, Jul 04, 2008 02:18AM
I've had chest pain off and on for the better part of this year.  And it seems to be getting worse and more often.
It generally hurts directly at my heart, often spreads to my left shoulder and left arm.

I've been to the ER numerous times, I've talked with my Doctor as well as a Cardiologist.  I've had lots of tests.  Every last person says there's NOTHING wrong with me.  Repeatedly!

I'm getting really frustrated because, well chest pain is damn scary!

Are there other causes for chest pain?  I'm going to talk to my Doctor yet again on Tuesday and I'd love to have some things to talk to her about so that maybe we can get somewhere.

By the way I've tried Anti-gas with no luck.

Thanks for your help and knowledge.

I can relate to your frustration. Don't give up. Keep going back to the doctor and complaining about your pain. Tell her when and how the pain shows up and when it is relieved.

For instance for me, the pain worsened when I breathed in or laid down on my back or left side. When I exercised but not always.

It went away when I leaned forward. I thought that was the strangest symptom of all until I researched the condition which I thought I had. I knew my diagnosis before the doctors did! Perimyocarditis!

I got the same go around, being told there was nothing wrong. One ER doc said, sometimes conditions take a while to become full-blown enough to be recognized. Meanwhile, I suffered more and more each day as the pain worsened.
