Hello,
Could you please tell me what is means if my t-4(free) level is 3.26?  My doctor told me that is underactive but my symptoms seem to point toward overactive!

Different labs use different ranges. It is hard to say if your Free T4 is high or low without knowing what the lab range is.

Thank you.  The normals range from 0.8-1.9 NG/DL on the  blood work reprot.  I am not even sure if that is what is considered the lab range.  I am seeking a thyroid doctor on Monday, but I was so confused by what my doctor told me.

you need to look at your TSH as well as your free T4. It appears, based on what you posted that your hyper rather than hypo. But you also need to know your TSH level. Get yourself an endocrinologist.

I agree.
Based on that lab range you are hyper, or overactive.
Sounds like a different doctor would be a good idea.
I hope you find a good one that runs more tests and gets to the root of the problem quickly.

thank you so much for the info.  I am looking for a good endocrinologist in RI.   I wonder if anyone knows of one?  Does anyone legs shake as well as hands?  My legs shake really bad.

My legs and hands shook alot before being diagnosed with Hyper T.  Now that I am on medication, those symptoms are gone.

Hi,
thanks for the info.  What have you found the side effects of the medication to be, if you don't mind saying.  At the risk of sounding vain, I do not want to gain weight!  I am 43 and in menopause!  (Very early, I know)
