Can lower back pain cause digestion problems?

by snoozies43, Jul 04, 2008 05:01PM
I seem to have this constant ache in my lower back. My back has went completely out on me 4 times. i can only move or stand for so long...even aches with little sharp pains from time to time. Even when i'm sitting.

Curious as to weather lower back problems can also cause digestive problems. I was diagnosed with IBS.

Thank you for any replies,

Yes,absolutly.
Clinically, there are a lot of patients been dignosed as having "IBS" due to back pain.
From the information given I would say that you have possibly suffered what is sometimes called a soft tissue injuries in the lamber spine. which can lead to conductible pain and dysfunction in stomach and intestine.

Take care!

Wow,
No kidding? Thank you for the reply.

Which procedure would you suggest to help lambar spine?
I almost went to a chiropractic doctor but canceled the appointment.

Are the results fairly good as the response to treatment and the lowering of IBS?

Thank you Zak,

Treatment options vary depending on the degree of soft tissue injuries and the findings or symptoms of your physical examination. There are situations where intensive acupuncture would be recommended before any type of nonsurgical treatment.  Good luck!
