Sking on shaft and glans of penis

by alangeol, Jul 04, 2008 10:45PM
Hi Dr

Twenty four hours after I have had sex, on the last two occasions the skin on the glans of my penis has become very wrinkled and after a few days peeled off. The last time I has sex was the day before yesterday and the same thing is happening only this time there are large 5-8 mm welts across my penis, These look very bulbous but do not itch. It looks similar to a reaction had many years agao when I used a solution for scalp itch on my pubic area ; so got onto my penis and a similar thing happened.it cleared up after a few days. Mt scrotum is also very itchy and a little red.

I have had an itchy scrotum on and off for years and use either Egoderm or if really itchy a composte cream.Chlortex. I am not using and new wasking products or medications. I am 61 years old very fit and other than this very embarassing problem very healthy.

I only had my annual medical two days ago and passed with flying colors. I did not mention this to my Dr as I thought then it was a once off problem. I actually live in central china and it is a long journey to go to Hong Kong to see an englisjh speaking doctor. So your help would be most appreciated. Thanks Alan

It sounds to me as though you have mild eczema.  This would be aggravated by the friction of sex.  It is nit serious or anything to be embarrassed about.  I recommend that when it happens you apply hydrocortisone in a low concentration--1%.  I don't know whether that is available to you without prescription, or perhaps your doctor can prescribe it for you.  Just use it for a day or two until the peeling goes away and resume it when needed.

Best.
