Missed Pills and Spotting

by tennis1089, Jul 04, 2008 11:39PM
I've been on birth control for a month and a half and been sexually active for about 3 or 4 weeks. I missed a pill last tuesday but kept taking the pills the next days. I had sex on that friday and we stopped before he ejaculated. That same night I got my period and it has lasted until today basically although I still have some spotting. I'm not supposed to get my period until next wednesday or thursday when I start the white pills. Is there something wrong?

Hello. Questions about pills, menstruation, etc. can be answered by the doctor in the gynecological expert forum, so please repost there. Regarding having penis-vagina sex and stopping before your partner ejaculates: you should be aware that millions of sperm are contained in the fluid that men secrete BEFORE ejaculation. Lots of women become pregnant by erroneously assuming that it's safe to have unprotected p-v sex as long as their partner doesn't ejaculate. This is completely incorrect, so be sure you also use a condom until you're able to remember to take your pills regularly and your cycle is regular as well. That is, unless you're looking to become pregnant :} Dr. J
