How are you? There are several different types of cysts that develop in the kidneys. Solitary cysts contain liquids and may be partially filled with blood.  Some are present at birth, and others are caused by tubular obstructions. They vary widely in size.If sufficiently large, they can cause backaches and a dragging sensation. In kidney vascular diseases,  numerous small cysts may be formed by the dilatation of blood vessels. Obstruction of the lymphatic vessels leading to the kidney may result also in cysts; these are generally small and relatively harmless except when they exert pressure upon a nearby blood vessel. Kidney cysts are almost always benign. Usually, the cysts don't cause any problems and people can go through life without even knowing that they have them. Most kidney cysts are harmless and don't need to be removed. Your doctor will send you to a urologist if the cyst keeps getting bigger, if problems arise because of the cyst or if there is any concern that the cyst might be cancerous.

I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
