dicofort pain in abdomen and back, help??

by bluetou555, Jul 05, 2008 05:22AM
Hi there, I am a VERY healthy 39 year old female.  Until now that is....Since the middle of May 2008 I have in and out of doctors office with UTI's.  Only to have the bacteria test done, and it is negative.  They grow it, it is negative.  I am peeing all the time, up through the night about 12 times, through the day I pee every 20 minutes.  MY pee is HOT (but it does not burn)  I pee a full pee, it is not just dribbles. MY u/s booked for end of JULY 2008.

I explained in these visits that intercourse in uncomfortabe (been telling my male doctor this for the last 8 monhts and his response was use lubricant!!??)  I told him that was not an issue.  HE then said somtimes after you have many chilren (I have three) things get shifted around and this may be causing the pain with intercourse!!??

SYMPTOMS - bloated, indescribable pain in lower abdomen and low back and left leg and hip, burning pressure in abdomen and vagina, standing too long aggrevates it and feels as though I have a babies head coming though the birth canel with pressure and pain, sleeping on my side causes discomfort and on my stomach too.  I get relief when I go on my hands and knees and press back through my hips and come down on my forearms.   I am full quickly when I eat.

NOW in the last two weeks, I have come down with this incredible pain in my lower abdomen, lower back, that now recently the pain has run into my left hip and into my left sciatic nerve. My abdomen, vagina, and lips of my vagina (sorry for details) feel hot and burning, almost like a heart burn.

WENT to doctor, (went to a female doctor who works with my regular GP who was on vacation)
SHe said my symptoms pointed to IC *interstitial cystitus) and given meds (this was Thursday July 3). Have not taken meds yet......  She did a pelvic, and she ordered an u/s for the next day (yesterday JULY 4).  Makes me wonder if she could feel the cyst on ovaies during pelvic?? can the doctor feel cyst on the ovaries during a pelvic?

Because it was a FRIDAY late in the day, docs were all gone home for the day...my results were given to the secretary to which she told me she could not tell me anything she coud legally get in trouble. (i understand that)...in the end she did say...well I can read the bottom of your file of results and it says CYSTS ON RIGHT OVARY.

SO here it is Saturday and I have to wait till MONDAY to get all the details and I am scared.....?
I worry about ovarian cancer? if it is just a cyst......that is operable right?  but could it be cancerous?

Right now the pain in my abdomen and back are unreal.....excrusiating really.....tylenol advil nothing dulls the pain...
I am very pain tolerable...but this pain has brought pain to my eyes and knocks me to me knees.

any insight would be appreciated.  thanks so much,
Tanya

Your cysts are certainly causing you many problems and yes, most of your symptoms are common with cysts.  Been there!  Don't be surprised if MedHelp moves your posting over to the Ovarian Cyst Forum where we best deal with these kind of questions.

Do relax.  Over 95% of cysts are benign.  Surgery depnds upon the type of cyst, its size and if there is considerable pain.  Take a look at the health pages attached to this and the Ovarian Cysts forum (same health pages) and there is a posting with extensive info on cysts.  I had surgery a month ago to remove a grapefruit sized fluid filled cyst.  Ah, relief!  If surgery is required you should request that a gyn/onc do it.  This doesn't mean it is cancer but they have had years of extra training in this area.  Please keep us posted over on the cyst forum.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your info.  This is my first time on this site, and posting, just found it while searching on cysts.  I did not realize I posted in the wrong forum.  I do hope my post gets moved as I would love to hear feedback from others.
Thanks so much for the info, so appreciated.
Thanks also for the guidance to check out other posters and the heat pages...will do that now.
thank you.

Nobody need endure such unbearable pain. I know it is the holiday weekend and we often feel we should respect our doctor's time, but you are suffering. Please consider calling the doctor on call and conveying the exact nature of your pain. Pharmacies are open, the doctor should at very least call in enough of something to relive your pain through the weekend.

All my best,

d.

I understand what you are going through.  I agree with the above post.  Call and get some relief.  Chances are that your cysts are benign, so try and not worry, I know that that is a hard thing to do.  I wish you the best.  your friend, Kerry

I can relate to the pain.  Once the hospital dx probable ovca I was discharged, but I had to ask for pain meds. Even then I was given 1 pill per 12 hours.  I was given Lortab.  I would ask for that or Vicodin.  Both meds will help with the pain, and can be called in by your Dr. No one should have to be in pain...good luck~~~Joanne

I am so confused...my doctor now tells me that the symptoms I have are not related to the cyst
