I don't have the numbers but because i am now getting involved in my husband's medical affairs i noted he is losing weight 2-3lbs over the last 4wks. His calcium levels are elevated i was told. His internist sent him to an endocrinologist (not certain for what) and he was placed on synthroid 50mcg 3wks now. Since i am involved this past week his internist has ordered a CXR-neg, kidney/bladder scans-pos for stones, and a 24hr urinalysis which we are awaiting results.any questions i need furthur ask

Everything seems to be pointing in the direction of a suspicion of parathyroid disease.

You can go to our Health Page (upper right) to click to web-sites with info on parathyroid disease, especially hyperparathyroidism.

Also, there’s another site, ‘parathyroid dot com’ that has a lot of good info.

As was the case with me, parathyroid disease can cause medical anorexia, ergo, weight-lose.

Also, the prescription of Synthroid tells me there is a possible thyroid issue the dr is onto too.

Sounds like he/she is going in the right direction.

Don’t mean to scare you.  The dr will probably call your husband and you in for a consult when all the tests are returned, to go over everything and pull it all together.

Good luck.
