Genital acne

I noticed what appeared to be a single pimple on the shaft of my penis.It had a puss/fluid filled head which when popped bled and was quite sore.It has healed but took about two weeks.I did masturbate in that time and attribute my lack of abstinence to the length of healing time as it healed quicker when I did practice abstinence.Is this a normal healing time or should it have healed sooner?Is this acne or something more serious.I have searched for info about genital acne as well as genital herpes and I don't exhibit any of the symptoms of the virus ie: fever,sore muscles,or flulike symptoms.I have also read about the different types of glands that can become clogged and cause acne.I don't know if there is any connection but I get acne type pimples on my scalp under my hair quite frequently

Bathe in a bland solution such as Oiltum or Eucerin. Pat the area dry with a clean towel and do not share flannels or towels with anyone. Avoid further physical trauma to this area by wearing clothes that do not rub or create friction.
