General Questions???

by martikadragoon, Jul 06, 2008 01:40AM
Ok... here are a few questions:

How can I tell if the baby has dropped, is it always obvious, or sometimes not so?

Is 30w too early for him to drop?

Would pressure in my vajayjay area be an indication that he's dropped or just that my pelvis is separating?

I know lowered movement is normal earlier on in pregnancy, but if he has had noticeably decreased movement today at 30w after moving almost non stop the last few days-weeks should I contact the doctor about it?

I know these questions may seem immature, but i've not been pregnant before, and my mom is convinced I'll deliver early.. shes' so worried about it that she's given me a cell phone to call her if anything crazy happens and I've got to be rushed to the hospital. She's been worried about this since I hit about 25w or so... and of course hubby doesn't know much regarding pregnancy. lol

its normal for fetal movements to start decreasing at your stage in pregnanacy.. but if i was you I would do a kick count.. drink some ice water and lay on your left side and see if you can feel the little guy moving. and no 30 weeks isnt to early for the baby to drop however just because he has dropped does not mean labor will happen tomorrow.. my little girl dropped at 31 weeks and I didnt have her until 37 1/2 weeks... you are entering the home stretch :o) and the pressure oh it only gets worse towards the end

Cool, he began moving around this morning and has been pushing around all day... so I'm not worried about it any longer.

I'm NOT looking forward to the pressure!

Geez, I'm 40 weeks and the pressure is intense! Theres a trick you can do that helps. It's really hard to explain but I'll try...... it's called the Double Hip Squeeze (u can google it), my doula taught it to my fiance. You turn your hands down, like you are pouring out a can of soda, place your palms on the hips and press down, in, and together.

It feels SO good and it instantly takes away anytime of pressure or pelvic pain. ITS AMAZING!

One way to tell baby has dropped is just by looking at your profile in the mirror. You may be able to just see that your belly is lower. You will also feel pressure and you'll be able to eat a little more and breathe better.
