by wmll19, Jul 06, 2008 11:22AM
When I exercise especially running on the treadmill my stomach starts hurting on the lower left side and sometimes in the middle of my stomach closer to my chest I have this burning tearing sensation which I have had since I had my son I have been to the dr numerous times they said its gastritis but even the medicine they gave me didn't help and my son is 10 months old and it just keeps getting worse its not as frequent but the pain is worse

Hi,

The digestion slows down during pregnancy and sometimes it takes upto one year for it to return to normal. Please do not exercise on a full stomach, make sure you exercise at least half an hour to 45 minutes after a meal or a snack. Also eat light, avoid rich oily food.
Maintain hydration, continue to drink water intermittently even while exercising. Take care!
