Chest pain, dizziness, muscle pain & more for over 6 months! help!

by alexislolz, Jul 07, 2008 04:35PM
Firstly i'll start by saying i'm posting this question for my friend.

He's 23 and has been complaining about the following symptoms for over 6 months:
sharp pain in  chest, thighs and behind knees
throbbing headaches that last a long time
hot flushes
dizzyness
sweating
shaking occasionally
mild palpitations

He says these symptoms are getting progressively worse and they mostly occur at night.
He's been to three different doctors and one said there's nothing he could do, another said it was a viral infection but didn't prescribe him anything or name what was wrong and the other said it was a cold.

I can ask him all of the questions you may have for him but he REALLY needs help , he's so ill! :(

Hi,

Has a blood test been done?

Has a chest xray been done to rule out any rib fracture, chest infection, or air in the pleural space?

There could be several causes of the symptoms he is having including a muscle pull, injury or trauma at the site, chest infection, gall stones, etc.

Does he have any associated symptoms?

He should apply some local pain relief medications, take some oral pain relief medications, maintain a proper posture throughout the day, try some warm compresses.

He could take some antireflux antinausea medications and see if they help with his symptoms - this could be pain due to reflux or GERD.

Consult a doctor if the symptoms persist and discuss whether he needs to get any investigations including a chest xray and ECG done.

Let us know about how he is doing and if you need any other information.

Regards.
