Sudden onset of muscle/tendon pain

My son-in-law has pain which started 1 week ago, in his feet which then moved to the ankles, knees, stomach, on up to his neck. He has severe pain and stiffness. He had pink eye 2 weeks ago and used drops. He recently returned from a trip to Hawaii.
