Please help!!!

by amanda812, Jul 08, 2008 01:23AM
I recently posted a question in the migraine section about my symptoms which are:  migraine like headaches lasting up to weeks (untreatable with meds/disabling), vision problems (including hallucinating), joint pain, numbness, tingling, fatigue, to name a few.  I have a new symptom now that started in early May.  Midway down my back, and just to right of my spine, I have had a constant pain.  It's almost directly on my spine, but I can feel it just to the right.

It's non mechanical.  It burns ands stings and hurts like crazy.  Nothing makes it worse and nothing makes it better.  My doctor ( at the free clinic)  has already wrote me off as depressed, so when I went to see him he told me I was perfectly healthy and to take ibuprofen.  I had already tried this, but tried it again 3 times a day for 2 weeks as he suggested but it didn't do anything.

I wondering if this is related to my other symptoms and also wondering what's going on with my spine, especially since it's not related to activity or relieved by anything including rest and rubbing and any medication.  I just woke up one day with it.  That's also how my first headache started.  I just woke with a stiff neck and a horrible pain (pressure) that put me in bed for 8 days straight, unable to hardly move.

I also get this shooting sensation followed by numbness down my spine and have had that since I was a younger teen along with my other symptoms, except the headaches that started 2 yrs ago.

If anyone has advice I would really appreciate it.  I'm nervous about going back to the doctor only to be treated like a hypochondriac.  I can't afford to see anyone else right now.  I haven't been able to work for awhile and my husband is our only source on income.

It sounds like what you're describing is soft tissue injuries in the neck, which can become worse over time and lead to occipital nerves pain (your headache). Given the severity of your pain and the functional limitations it's now placing on you, it probably is time to consult with a medical acupuncturist.I would agree that intensive acupuncture can be helpful.
