Overdid on 3 day weekend, now I'm hurting, help!

by LLWB, Jul 08, 2008 11:34AM
Good morning, Hope you all had a great 3 day weekend. I didn't. I had to work on the Holiday, and due to a miscommunication, ended up with a very stressful situation for ove an hour. My neck was extra tense, resulting in an occipital and temporal lobe pain and excruciating headache. It took 4 Tramadol, and complete rest in evening to get it under control.

Then on Sat a close friend needed help shuffeling cars 45 miles as she was moving and couldn't drive 2 cars, LOL. So I went with her. When we got to her old house (sold, papers signed on Monday, had to be out by Sun night) she comments, "oh, we might as well load it up"  That was an understatement. 5 hrs later we were ready to come back to town, unloaded 2 vehicles. I came home and crashed.  After Church on Sunday, I drove my SUV back to her old house, in tandem with her. We moved patio furniture to a neighbors, went back, and proceeded to cram a LOT of stuff into both vehicles. 6 hours. Heavy stuff. Loaded canned goods, steel hand truck, sorted tools. She had a box of rocks...no, really, that she wanted and I loaded.6 hrs later, after an emotional leave-taking from her, we were off back home. She had lived with her Dad, cared for him, and he passed away last fall. Her sister is buying the house from the Estate, and told her to take what she wanted, but be out by Sun eve, as it was her's on Monday.
She was changing the locks, and that was it. Another whole post entirely!
When I got home, I didn't even unload my SUV. I came straight home, put on my swimsuit, and hit the pool, for some stretches, water walking, and swimming. Then a hot shower and muscle relaxers.

Yesterday and today I am extremely stiff. More than normal. Pain in my cervical, mid-thoracic, and lumbar. Bulging discs in all areas. My concern is the new pain I have in my lumbar. It is a constant, burning that doesn't go away. When I try to lean backwards, like stretching, I get a intense pain in the lower back area, and thoracic area is still stiff so that it doesn't seem to move as much. My neck hurts. It feels like it needs popped, but it won't do it.

I knew I was over-doing it, but it couldn't be helped. Any ideas on what I can do to treat this, or ideas about the burning pain, would be appreciated.  Sorry this was so long, but needed to explain the problem, LOL
