How suspicious are my US findings?

by momof2bboyz, Jul 08, 2008 11:42PM
Hello. I recently had a thyroid US of my neck. I posted in the regular forum, but would love a Dr.'s opinion (while I wait for my appt.) My symptoms are "fullness" of neck sensation, some difficulty feeling like I can take in an adequate breath (especially when not sitting upright), hoarseness of voice for 3 months (diagnosed with dysphonia and slightly paralized right vocal cord.) I have also had severe fatigue for 8 months and general aches and pains (flu like). No fevers. Some swollen lymph nodes felt on exam (although not mentioned on US). I have been told that my nodules are too small to cause my symptoms. I also should mention that at first my ENT doc. thought I had GERD, but no official diagnoses was made.

US reads:

Hypoechoic 9 mm mass in the left thyroid upper lobe with peripheral vascularity.
Inhomogenous 5 mm mass in the isthmus with peripheral vascularity.
Right thyroid isthmus cyst.

Otherwise thyroid is normal in shape and structure.

Oops, I guess this isn't the physician post site. I'm still learning my way around here!
