Could this be a pituitary tumor side effect?

My son had an MRI over a year ago that showed a very small pituitary tumor on or near his gland.  I was told at that time it would not be causing any symptoms that he's having.  His symptoms include a lot of peeing, drinking and eating.  I've also noticed he's having some vision problems.  He can see but sometimes he says things are tilted and he has a hard time when he moves from looking at something far away to up close.  Are any of these sounding like an effect of a pituitary tumor?  We had another MRI done about a week ago and are waiting for results.

We got the report back from the MRI we just had done.  It says my son has a pars intermedius cyst.  It then says "potentially a pituitary microadenoma could appear similarly".  I've gotten no help from our regular doctors office in interpreting what this really means.  The office has told me I should make an appointment with a ped endo.  I'm just trying to figure out if this is what is actually causing his problems.  He eats a lot, pees a lot and drinks a lot but not consistently.  His blood sugar will go up and down a lot also.  I can't find a pattern for any of it.  Help?

Hello, my son is 15 & is in the same boat as your son.  He really doesn't have the blood sugar problem as yours though, he has headaches everyday & dizziness.  I can start by saying that regular doctors DO NOT KNOW SQUAT about pituitary adenomas.  We have been to 3 pediatric neurosurgeons (1 in state & 2 outside our state) & we got 2 different answers.  

You need to find a neurosurgeon that specializes in pituitary issues.  We found ours through the Pituitary Network Association http://www.pituitary.org/.   You'll find all kinds of good information here.  We seen Dr. Krisht at UAMC & he advised us to wait until our son finished growing to do any operations because it could mess up the pituitary gland.  

My heart is with you cause I know how hard it is to finally find a doctor that knows what their talking about & it's scary because there really isn't any information about kids having this.  Good luck & let me know how it turns out!
