Dizziness

by red_arrows, Jul 09, 2008 08:27AM
Hi, i have been really dizzy since January this year. It is worse in the morning and when i lay down. I went to the doctor and he said that i have a heart murmur but he doesn't think it is related to the dizziness. I had it checked out by having a hcest x-ray and an ultrasound and they came back fine. I was then refered to the ENT specialists and they said that there wasn't anything wrong there either. I then went to neurology and had an MRI scan and there was nothing wrong there either. The only thing i do have is an Elevated ESR and CRP.
I went to the doctors yesterday and they are stuck with whats wrong. I am signed of sick becuase of this and i got the feeling yesterday that the doctor thought i was faking it so i couldn't work!
I feel that the doctors have given up on me and was wondering if there was anything they could have missed as the dizziness is still there.
Thanks

Elevated ESR means you are in the midst of something viral probably. Sometimes these are undetermined but rumble on for months , sort of like glandular fever without the glands swelling. One thing I would say is that my mum has MS and dizzyness was a major factor early on....are you having any problems typing or getting your words out? With that an MRI may not show it in the early stages...a spinal tap would show clear fluid if ok and cloudy if MS. I would ask for a neurologist exam to rule out MS/Parkinsons type things , but it is probably Viral.

dizziness can cause many things like anxiety migraines inner ear problem and so on and on. Most of doctors if the MRI shows to be fine they ll tell you its anxiety or nothing is wrong with you thats what at least happened to me. I get dizzy very often esspecially in afternoon or evening with very bad headaches. Its very wired feels like somebody is polling me to one side  for about three sec.   I am having this problem for about 2 years it all started ones a month for a sec. and that ones a week and know this year three for times a day sometimes all day long  hate it. Next week i am going to see  Otolaryngologist to check my ears. So my massage is to you don't give up something is coasing your dizziness and you have to fight to find out . it could be anxiety but you have to be sure its anxiety . One more thing if you have the feeling like the doctors have given up on you keep looking for different one ask somebody don't just sit there resolve that problem and enjoy your life i am doing the same thing.
Good luck keep us posted.

Thanks for your comment

It does get really bad sometimes and it feels like i am not with it for a second. It scares me sometimes because i don't know what is causing it and the doctors don't know either. But i will keep perservering with the doctors.
