kidney infection

by Lindy132, Jul 09, 2008 08:45AM
I am constantly getting test w/blood in urine. Sometimes my protein levels are abnormal.   I am told I have kidney infection.  I take medication, it goes away a while, then comes right back.  I am always tired, have nausea that comes and goes and lower back pain almost all the time.  I am not sure what I need to do next.  My PCP wants me to go back to my urologist.  I went last year with same issues and they could not find anything wrong.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How are you? Was there a kidney ultrasound done?Recurrent kidney infections may result from an underlying medical problem, such as a structural abnormality. It would be good to see a kidney specialist (nephrologist) for an evaluation to determine if abnormalities may be present. A structural abnormality may need to be surgically repaired. To reduce your risk of kidney infection drink plenty of fluids and urinate frequently. Take care and keep us posted.
