symptom concern

I had an HSV IGG and IGm test taken 1 month post encounter. They were negative. However, I had a some symptoms that my dr related to a UTI and treated with antibiotics. Now about 4 months later the symptoms have returned....minor vaginal burning intermittently and some mild lower abdominal pain. I started another set of antibiotics and now my dr tells me that these could be symptoms of HSV if they do not go away with antibiotics. I am not sure my nerves will sustain until this course is done. Any advice?

It sounds like your doctor is just throwing the possibility of you having herpes out there. What testing did you have done with this recent set of symptoms? did you have a urine culture done to see if you have a uti? Did they do an exam and test your vaginal secretions for yeast and bacteria to see if they are the cause of the pain and burning? Did they visually examine you for signs of a herpes recurrence at all?
