how do u deal with an abused addicted spouse in a loving way?

after being with my partner of 13 years 4 days ago i realised y he is addicted 2 tablets. it blew me away and i can never seem 2 say or do the right thing! its so painful i want 2 cry all the time but need my strengh 4 him and the kids. plz feel free all advice is welcome. xx

The first thing I would need to know if I were you, is he willing and ready to quit taking them and get sober. If so, then I think what you need to do is decide how you are going to handle things once he starts withdrawing. I would suggest that you check out Al anon. They are not just for acoholic supporters. They can give you alot of insight on how to live with anyone that has an addiction problem.

I am not sure there is a loving way to deal with some one who is addicted except to realize that it is an addiction and you are not dealing with the real person. If he seeks help for the addiction, then you owe him your support. He has to realize he has a problem first. You will need to seek support for you in order to give him the support he will need. You have to educate yourself as to what you are dealing with and procede from there. Alanon would be an excellent choice for starters
