Arcs of Light in the Dark

Occasionally, I find that when in a dark dimly lit room. It only happens when I turn my head and often there is some sort of small light in sight when it happens though sometimes the arc appears without any lights in sight and is almost always yellowish orange, short and only last for an instant. Is this some sort of problem with my eye? Is it serious?

Normally this is not serious, it is called an entopic phenomena and is due to the pressure of the eye muscles moving the eye and stimulating the retina. Use the search feature and also Google "entopic phenomena".
