abnormally long menstrual period with cramps

by kylie319, Jul 10, 2008 12:44AM
i'm 27 years old and single. my menstrual period is regular (ocurs almost every month but sometimes delayed for a couple of days). i seldom had cramps for several years. in a year, i would experience menstrual cramps from 0 to 3 times. but last january 2008, i started having menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) almost every month when i get my period. It lasts for 1 to 2 days. last june 2008, i had menstrual cramps again for 1 to 2 days. as i was about to end my usual 7 day period, i noticed that i started having my period again. so my whole period lasted for about 2 weeks. now i have my period again. this time, i still have menstrual cramps but it occurs almost everyday. sometimes i'd wake up at night or early morning because of pain. if i were to rate the pain from a scale of 1 to 10, i'd rate it as 6. i'm not so sure yet when it's going to end. I'm expecting it to end after 7 days. I'm so worried aout this menstrual imbalance. what should i do? what is/are the probable cause/s of this?

This sounds a lot like endometriosis.

I agree w/ noellelamb it does sound like endometrosis. What should you Do?/ Go to Your GYN and tell him your symptoms and tell him you suspect endo and he will test for that among others, but you NEED!!!! to see a professional.
