I have been on mirtazapine for PTSD and depression for 10 months.  they worked wonderfully for my condition, but like so many I suffered over 2 stone weight gain and food cravings.  I have stopped taking the mirtazipine now : but despite careful deiting and exercising I just cannot lose wiehgt.  How long will the effects of teh drug prevent any controlled weight loss?  I'm desperate as I have ballooned and being diabetic need urgently to lose some weight.

The  drug effect should wear off in no more than 4 weeks, but if you have ptsd and depression, you are also a candidate for emotional eating, which can sabotage any diet program.. Read my blog, or find out more about emotional eating at www. shrinkyourself.com
