nerve inflammation

how long can inflammation of the nervous system last. its been 7 months now. my neurologist says it should be gone by now, but still having some symtoms. being sent back for a second mri on the brain? any ideas? thanks symtoms are pulsing nerve feelings in back of head center of spine and heart area of spine. in morniing it flares up feel it in my head. eye. walking is back to about 95 percent some minor nreve feeling in my arms and legs .
