Should I consider seeing an RE or am I just over reacting?

by sweetangel7, Jul 10, 2008 03:33PM
Sorry to be a pest and sound insecure but I just feel like I don't know my body any more and it is driving me crazy!  I had a mc in December, the day after Christmas and had bleeding until like the first week of January...it stopped then I went 44 days until my next cycle, then it went to 27 days, then it went to 34, then 28...AND NOW, I am on cd 35 and from bbt, I am 22 days dpo!?  I have been testing and keep getting bfns.  I have been thinking about trying to see an RE but I'm not sure if I am a good candidate or if I am over reacting.  I went to see my doctor over a month ago about this and he seemed to think I was more upset about this than I should be because my cycles are normal in the sense that I am having weeks without bleeding and a week of bleeding.  I'm just frustrated and wish I had some answers...even having af at this point would be a blessing because then I'd feel normal!

I would surely look into meeting the RE. they can monitor u well.. ur estradiol and prog levels... ur egg generation.. if u have any an-ovulatory cycles.
charting helps ...and remember to take ur charts with u when u go there.

Might want to speak with your doc about Clomid???  Your regular OB/GYN should know the basics about fertility and should be able to help you get pregnant.  Then if what that doc does doesn't work, I'd think about seeing a specialist.  And I agree with Kash....I'd take your charts with you.

Perhaps you are not ovulating.  This can cause your periods to get out of whack too.  This happened to me when I stopped taking BC pills in the middle of a pack and I didn't get things back to normal until the doctor gave me a progesterone shot in the backside.  After that, I got pg the following month.

my doctor told me that he didn't want to talk clomid or any other pregnancy aid until we'd been ttc for a year...well, we started the last week of last august, got pg within two months but mc'd, SO in a way I feel like I have ttc for a year...I'm glad that you all seem to think that I am not being unreasonable in wanting to get more answers or at least get a clean bill of health from an RE.  Its funny because my temps indicate I ov'd but my cm doesn't seem to coincide with it, and I gave up on opk's because they didn't seem to coincide either...Ugh!  I'll call my insurance company tomorrow to see if I need a referral to see an RE or if I can just make an appointment and go myself.  Thanks for the advice and reassurance!

I think anyone who has problems getting pregnant or miscarriages should be a good candidate for an RE I wasnt even referred when I went I just called and set up my appt...I got pregnant before I ever say the doctor, but I did have my interview with the nurse and they are awesome people during pregnancy...they do more worrying than you do..I loved my RE's assistant I wish I could still go there but he doesnt deliver babies!

I'm glad to hear that you had a great experience, that is what I am worried about you know, I don't want the RE to think I'm a head case and just over reacting.  Hopefully I'll be able to find a great one near me =)
