Question About Klonopin Dosing

I see my doctor on Monday for follow up. I am currently taking a total of 1.25-1.5mg of xanax daily and I would like to switch to a longer acting medication. What is the best way to take this medication? I want to take the least amount to deal with my anxiety issues, but make sure it is the most effective.

I take Klonopin, my doc put me on .5mg and I have severe anxiety this mg seems to work great for me and lasts all day. Also its the least addicitve out of the benzo class.
