Odd breathing discomfort

by horsegal01, Jul 10, 2008 10:12PM
About five days ago, I noticed an odd sensation in my mouth and throat running from the back of my bottom teeth, under my tongue and down my throat to the groove just above the sternum. I really can't describe the sensation, but the closest description is tingling. It occurred when I breathed in and was only a mild discomfort, a bit of a tickling. My original thought was allergies, however bendryl had no effect whatsoever. Over the last two days, it seems to have migrated down, so that the majority of it is just above the sternum and is beginning to feel a bit more like pressure rather that tickling, though that is still occurring as well.. Earlier today it was more painful to breath deeply or the "over expel" air, however at the moment, it is more uncomfortable if I breath normally or more shallow. What was only mild discomfort to begin with seems to be becoming more painful and more noticeable. I am not congested, do not have a cough and am not short of breath.   I am 18, in relatively good shape, not overweight. This is the best description I can give, it is such an odd sensation. I have a Dr.s appointment next week for routine shots and will ask about it then, but am curious and and my mom is worried that it is something that should be looked into sooner.  Any ideas would be much appreciated!
