Hi,

How old is your brother in law and what other symptoms does he have?
The presenting feature of sensory motor neuropathy will be weakness, cramping, decreased reflexes, numbness and tingling.
There can be many causes like diabetes, toxin, metabolic abnormalities, vitamin deficiencies, autoimmune disease or even idiopathic where the exact cause cannot be identified.
I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with a neurologist for your brother in law as soon as possible. Do keep me posted.

To: suggestive of Sensory motor neuropathy
Patient Name: Krishna chaitanya
Age: 19 years Sex: Male
Consulting doctor: Meena of NIMS  of Hyderabad Nurologist
Symptoms observed: shevering while walking
Slipping on cheppals
Cant walk long distance

Tests

1. Serum B12 result is  643 pg/ml
2. ENMG  (Electroneuromyography (ENMG) findings
Distal latency, motor conduction velocity, F wave latency within normal limits. CMAP amplitude is reduced in the right posterior tibial nerve. Distal Latencies, CMAP amplitudes, motor conduction velocities and F wave latencies are within normal limits in right median, ulnar and common perennial nerves.
SNAP amplitude reduced and sensory conduction velocities are within normal limits in right median, Ulnar sural nerves

Summary: findings are suggestive of Sensory motor neuropathy
Genetic analysis report:
Molecular analysis report: PCR was carried out with specific premiers encompassing the genes of FA. PCR products were loaded on 1% Agarose gel and subsequently analyzed using  UCV Doc  molecular weight software.

Locus Allele size(bp) Result
FA >3000bp Homogeneous expansion

Hi,

The ENMG findings are within normal limits. The findings are suggestive of sensory motor neuropathy. I would suggest you to continue the treatment as NIMS is a very good place to be treated. Take care!

The medicines presently ( course) prescribed by doctor is as below
amantrel, evinal-400, flunil-20, polybion, ecosprin-75,
shall we treat as they started the treatment for sensory motor neuropathy?
Please clear the confusion...
